Garden Pond Renovation

Is now a good time to renovate a tired garden pond? No sign of any frog spawn yet.  Have plants in baskets which are all a bit past their best and need replacing and the water mint has taken over a bit.

I would say yes! I did mine 2 weeks ago.Keep on the lookout for any wildlife and keep in a bucket.

If you have the space leave a lot of the pond debris nearby so things can crawl back in.

Sooner rather than later.  I'm amazed you haven't seen any frogs yet.  When I had a pond we generally saw them from mid Feb onwards.

Indeed there have been one or two sitings of frog spawn already, guess it depends where you are.

Depends entirely on where you are. Frogspawn won't appearround here for a while yet.

If you're worried Tim, decant the contents into another container,  or containers, of some kind so that your 'facilities' are still there  image

Checked my pond yesterday. and discovered a dead goldfish. Now girding my loins to remove it! I am a bit squeamish when it comes to things like that.
