herbal hair rinses

Has anyone used herbal hair rinses to colour grey hair? I'm thinking of not using a permanent hair color anymore.

I don't know about herbal hair rinses but Henna leapt into my mind when I read your post. My hair gets coloured by my hairdresser.

Thanks Ladybird, henna can be very messy and I don't think it's for grey hair. Also hubby wouldn't let me use it in the nice new and white bathroomimage

    There's this http://www.itspure.co.uk/herbal-hair-colours.html

but I've never used it and it does contain henna - I think most herbal hair colours contain it  - I've stopped colouring my hair and am happily 'silver' image

  • Not herbal.   but  there is Clairol Nice'neasy. No ammonia,  no peroxide and last up to 8 shampoos.

it says it gently blends away first greys. The ingredients have everything but the kitchen sink in but you put it on and rinse it off after about 20 minutes..

once upon a time I used it and it's not drastic if you chose the right shade.

I used to  use henna. Great stuff, but messy. Unfortunately, it makes grey hair go pink.

    Found this - http://www.naturallivingideas.com/home-remedies-for-gray-hair/

My hair is still mostly dark blonde/light brown and I'm expecting lots of natural streaks this summer but in the past I have used lemon juice and chamomile to brighten it up in dull winter months.

Rosemary is supposed to be good for darker hair and also black, as opposed to green, tea.

I've always coloured my hair and have no idea how grey I am under it all. I have no idea what happens if/when I decide to go 'naturelle'. Do I use semi permanents on the regrowth until it has all grown out? I have long hair - that will take forever!
