I feed when they are in flower, used to feed when they had gone over until I read the advice given out by RHS
'To promote good flowering next year, feed the bulbs every seven to ten days with a high-potassium fertiliser such as a liquid tomato feed. Begin feeding as soon as shoots appear, and stop feeding once the foliage starts to die down at the end of the season'

"Feed bulbs in lawns and borders after flowering, as this helps them fatten up to reach flowering size in time for next year" Alan Titchmarsh
I read something different every year. To get the best of both worlds, I add with FB&B when planting and then tomato feed when dying back.
