Trailing plants for wall mounted planter

Hello,
I am looking for some trailing plants for a wall mounted planter.
Ideally I want perrenials and they will be in a sunny spot.
I have seen some lobelia plants but it says, "Hardiness: tender (needs frost protection)". I have no greenhouse so what can I do to protect them?
I would like the flowers to cascade out of the planter and that are easy to grow and flower every year, so any recommendations gratefully received.

Trailing heuchera will give a choice of leaf colour/colours.

Someone gave me details of one in Southampton but they don't stock all the plants I am after.
