What tree/plant are these seeds from and how do I grow them?
Hiya, I found these seeds on the pavement, I only picked up 8, but there were a lot more.
What tree do you think they are from? i think it would be fun to try and germinate and plant them as a little experimentbut as i dont know the species I dont know how to grow them. there seems to be a distinctive lump at the end of the "pod" where the seed is. Would they need to undergo stratification? if so how would I do this...
All replies are much appreciated, Ajsski99

They could be mountain ash. No idea how to grow them. But I would put them in a pot and leave outside, or plant them in the garden.
They look like ash tree seeds to me. i would expect a high proportion of them to germinate and you will have eight saplings with the potential to grow into large forest trees.
Id rather leave them be and have a look on our seed swap thread for something you can sow and grow to its full potential

Not mountain ash seeds. Mountain ash have red or orange berry-like fruits with a seed inside.
