Thanks everyone, I think it is corncockle as I may have sprinkled some old wildflower seeds around at some time. As much as I'd have liked to have left them to flower to be sure, they were right at the front of the border so had to come out. They only survived to this stage as I've been away for 6 weeks and now have a lot of weeding and gardening to catch up on.
