Worm Casts

I have been plagued by worm casts for  several years now. My lawn was so badly affected that i could not walk on it at all. Then someone suggested good old Coleman's English  mustard. I used half a large jar mixed with hot water and then added it to a watering can and topped it up with cold water. After one application i noticed the worm casts were diminishing each day. They were not completely gone so 4 weeks later i treated it again with the same solution. My lawn is now cast free, i cannot believe the solution was such a simple one. Give it a try it is an inexpensive way to treat this problem.

I'll keep the worms untainted. I don't think blackbirds like mustard or dead worms.

  • Worms are good for the soil - leave them alone! They eat organic matter, and improve drainage and aeration.

A good besom and a bit of aerobic exercise sorts ours out - and there are far better uses for Colmans Mustard - trust me, I'm in Norwich image
