Penstemon raven

I've got a bit of space to fill and wanted some tall (ish) purple flowers. I'm going to be replacing some poorly performing penstemon 'red riding hood' and thought of 'Raven'.
The spot will be partly sunny, definitely not full sun.
Does anyone have any experience of this one and would they recommend?

It is the nicest Penstemon that I have grown, although I find with all Penstemons that they flower better some years than others.
I take cuttings every year and tend to replace plants every 2 - 3 years.

I have this penstemon. I bought it at a show last year. It's grown and spread rapidly, i was very impressed. It's a burgundy type colour.
