  • I can see celandine (rounded heart shaped leaves), sedum spectabile (greyish fleshy leaves in clump, first photo) and what I think are penstemon.

Pretty sure number two is Centranthus, self seeds everywhere, in between pavement crevices etc.

  • Excellent, thank you very much :)

    2. Aquilegi, wild violet and forget me nots I think.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • Had a closer look. Photo one, left to right, the grey leaves in the tight clump are sedum spectabile, summer flowering, great for pollinating insects. The upright bright green bulb type leaves in the clump look like hemerocallis.  Pic two, yes, a little violet, the grey soft feathery leaves are indeed aquilegia and tye big clump, I agree, probably is centranthus ruber (red valerian). Pic three, more of the centranthus, you might have some violets (you'll soon know as they'll flower shortly) and then the new leafy clump at the edge of the picture could be early leaves of delphinium, but I'm not sure. I'd let it all come up, perhaps removing some of the excess clumps to make space and see what you likeof it.  Quite exciting. I bet there's more to come up yet.
