I thought it would be too warm and dry for primroses in the Vendee region Obelixx, we never saw them because we travelled that way in August time. If they grow well in the wild there, they should take to your garden easily enough too. Perhaps the birds will do the job for you!

cowslips and primrose can also naturally hybridise too, you get oxslips
Cowslips prefer better drainage than primroses do. They're even happy on a grassy sunny bank as long as they're not being baked.
Primroses and cowslips do hybridise, but the true Oxlip is a separate plant, not a hybrid. It's the County Flower of Suffolk, my home county.
