Difficult to see, really, but cannas won't be up yet and have more angled veining than banana leaves which tend to have the veins at almost right angles to the midrib of the leaf. Does the leaf smell, strawy when bruised. That would be banana.
Thanks Hortum , the leaves when bruised do have a scent. The veins are more of a 45 degree angle though. Its been growing on a windowsill that why it so far on.
I have order a red abyssinian banana, i try and compare them when it arrives.
told it was a banana plant, looks a bit like a canna plant to me though.
