Yuka revival

My 22 year old yuka is now in a poor state. It is about 1.8M high. It does not look good.

I put it out during summer months and return it to the conservatory for the winter months.

I repotted it 2 years ago and it is watered very rarely.

I thought of watering it with a high potash feed.

I read that I could cut it back the branches to 0.5M above the base to revive it. Before I do this I thought I would ask if anyone has any alternative.

Any comments welcome.

Can you supply a photo? Do you know the variety?. Most are tough enough to live outside all year, ( depending on your location of course )

Don't plant outside it will take over the garden, ours spread metres across the lawn before we decided to irradicate it,

  • Thanks for all the advice folks.

I should of mentioned that the yuka is in a large pot.

It has not been watered for 5 months when I brought it in from outdoors.

When the yuka is watered, the water almost runs right through it.

I'll water it a little and give until May.

    Thanks again
