What is this mass of bulbs?!

We recently bought our house and I've been clearing out a bed which was pretty invaded with onion weed. I've been trying to get rid of those bulbs while keeping daffodils etc which hasn't been easy.

Anyway, I've come across three masses of bulbs like the one pictured in the photo. What on earth is it?! I could just find out obviously... but grateful if anyone has any ideas!

I'd wait for them to flower.

Might be daffs, might be nerines. Hard to 100% sure at this stage.

My nerines look just like that today.

Thanks both and you're dead right, it's nerines now I've googled what the flowers look like! They were there when we moved in but I'd forgotten. Glad I didn't dig them up... Much appreciated.

You don't think I should divide them at all?

I think I'd try and ease out half of that clump and spread it a bit but leave some to carry on as they are. I dug up all mine as they were weed infested and it seemed the easiest way forward

They rather like being fairly jammed up together / congested, though, don't they?

They do M-K- but I don't think they mind that too much. Though maybe in our climate they should mind, being on the surface like that

I put lots of grit around mine to take their minds off torrential rain from the SW and to make them think they are basking in the sunshine abroad. And they're against a S facing wall. So far so good ...
