Agree with Hosta that the green stems, in what looks like a mixed hedge (12:53 photo), are kerria. The variegated leaves in the same pic could be euonymous.
Looks like a berberis, poorly pruned. Better to cut out some of the old branches right back to base than to shorten them all, makes a better shaped bush

The last one is SO spiky. A small bird got trapped in the middle much to my dismay and we had to get it out using broom handles to part the leaves.
