Hiding a horse box

My neighbours have parked the biggest horse box to date at the bottom of our garden-it is lorry sized.  There is a five foot wall.  I would like to grow an evergreen hedge or plant some evergreen trees that don't grow too tall or too deep and would like ideas please.  I have already grown a laurel hedge further along to hide other unsightliness I would also like advice on where to get hedge plants/trees of a reasonable size as the laurels have taken a long time to grow!

  • Buying big can be expensive, but consider photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' trained onto a frame. However, buying small has its benefits. They're much cheaper and the plants get established more quickly and invariably catch up within a few years, stronger for it.  Re your laurels, give a feed and a mulch in a few weeks' time, see if that helps.

  • Ok thanks for the advice.  I have already fed and mulched the laurels so hope it isn't too early!  I intend to put some trellis/fencing alongside the wall  (its not my wall)to raise it to 6 foot. Does anyone know how I stand if I put it higher than 6 foot in places where there is a particular thing I want to hide.
