Planting one now is OK as along as the soil isn't frozen or water logged and you prepare it well so that the roots can establish themselves before the big burst of spring energy puts a strain on them.
You'll need to make sure it is watered regularly for its first season and also be sure to plant it so it is sheltered from wind as this really burns and dessicates the leaves.

I'd agree - and assuming it's in a pot and is a reasonable size, it should be fine. A mulch round it will help protect it from drying out too. A slightly shadier aspect is ideal, and out of harsh winds as Obelixx says. You'll get the best from it that way.
In future, if you're in an area where spring can be dry, make sure it doesn't go short of water at that time of year too.

And, before yu plant it at the same depth it was in its pot, remember to soak the pot in a bucket of water until no more air bubbles appear.
Water well after planting and mulch with compost or chipped bark to keep down competing weeds and retain moisture.
