Plant Suggestions

in Plants
Good Afternoon!
I have a 2 compartment Belfast sink that I introduced to the garden last year, currently it contains a mix of John Innes and Grit as the growing media and one lonely Aquilegia. Unfortunately the other plants in the sink haven't survived the past few months (mostly due to the weather). The sink is located in a slightly shaded area so it only gets sunlight for half of the day, although it does have drainage the soil can become rather wet for long periods of time. Can anyone suggest some plants that will be happy in this location alongside the Aquilegia? Ideally some that reach various heights for added interest

I've found it difficult to get most plants to grow in Belfast sinks because of poor drainage. If you can move it to a sunny spot I'd fill it with very gritty compost and grow a collection of sempervivums.
If it has to stay in the shade I'd grow moisture-loving ferns.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I was thinking ferns myself, unfortunately due to the layout (I can't change much of the garden due to renting) and neighbouring trees it is in fact in the sunniest spot available already lol
