Japanese Anemone Alternative?

I like the look of anemones to pop into the slightly shaded bit of my garden but am put off by their general attitude to invading the world having recently almost managed to get shot of a houttuynia...
What alternatives can people suggest?

I've seen White Swan for sale, I wasn't sure if they had better manners!

Possibly worth pointing out, that some people struggle to keep them alive.
