You shouldn't have to repot unless the pot is too small for the size of bulb. I'm guessing it's a small bulb because it hasn't flowered yet. Just give it regular feeding until fall.
All I did was leave the leaves on and when the weather got better put them outside in the full sun. I'm sure you can leave them inside like most people but I didn't have space so on the patio they went. The leaves grew really long and so they got all the energy from the summer sun and the bulbs grew even bigger.
Re re-potting I only repot them every couple of years because the roots don't like to be disturbed. I did repot the ones which came in the tiny pots with no holes because I think it's a bit cruel how they're crammed into those tiny pots. The bulbs which came without pots I put them in quite big terracotta pots with a mixture of multipurpose, John Innes No 2, silver sand.and bit of feed.
I don't fully agree with the withholding water thing. I didn't continuously water them but I personally think the bulb goes dormant anyway when it wants to. Possibly the drop in temperature at the end of summer might make it reflower but I just think when they're ready and with proper care they'll reflower anyway. I definitely don't agree with the advice to leave 1cm around the bulb, and people who say they need to be crammed up in order to flower. I don't believe this about any bulb - maybe some vine plants (like Ceylon creeper or bonsai trees) like restricted roots but not amaryllis. I have followed all advice from an expert in the USA called 'Amaryllis Man'. He has a brilliant youtube channel providing all kinds of advice about growing and caring for amaryllis from his farm in Florida. I have also had personal advice from him and he told me to pot mine into as big pots as possible to see more shoots and flowers. His advice has worked - our bulbs have grown bigger and some of mine have thrown up a third shoot and also offsets. Also as per Amaryllis Man's advice, I have been feeding my seedlings with miracle gro and when the adults were outside growing leaves in the spring/summer, I also gave them some miracle grow every couple of weeks or when I remembered. Amaryllis are hungry things.
Aym I would love a papillo too! You should definitely get Gervase, it's beautiful.

We have loads of healthy amaryllis that keep coming back every year: http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/the-potting-shed/my-flowers--2/986906-65.html/

Does that mean that the bulb doesn't need nutrients from the soil? It's a very large bulb in a small pot with about 1cm clearance around the sides.
Thanks for going to the trouble of posting such clear instructions, aym
I'll certainly give it a go - and try to keep the slugs off it when I put it out for the summer!
