Weedkiller Woe
My neighbour has a large but very "sterile" garden. He has borders of white shiny stones which he waters regularly throughout the growing season with liquid weedkiller.
Unfortunately this is having a knock on effect along the length of our 25m boundary fence and a number of my plants have either died or failed to thrive. I have mentioned the problem to him but he is not interested in looking for a solution and we have since stopped talking to each other. I have dug in a plastic border but have only managed to get down four or five inches so am not expecting it to have much of an effect.
Is there anything that I can add to soil on my side of the fence to make the weedkiller less effective?
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you

Pansy is right, it needs some drastic remedy apart from shooting your neighbour. The soil will be contaminated now so it could mean removing it and getting rid of it. A heavy membrane fixed partly up the fence and across the bed then new fresh soil added and new plants should cure it. If that is too much the pots or boxes of soil with new plants is the only way. People with stone gardens use moss killers which often do not disopate, we have to live with neighbours however much they cause us pain, I am lucky with mine they are gardeners not stone masons.
