Dwarf raspberries in pots

I'm planning on buying some Ruby Beauty raspberries which is a dwarf variety to grow in pots. When I am planting dwarf blueberries in ericaceous compost can I do the same with raspberries or do they do better in standard potting compost.

  • They prefer a pH of 5.5 to 6.5 which is slightly acidic, so you could add some of the ericaceous compost to normal compost.  I think I'd use a John Innes #2 and mix in up 10 to 20% of the ericaceous.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
