type of screening?

ideally i would put a fence up between my neighbours and i between my front garden and his (its my boundary) but given the fact he wrecked my brand new fence last year i had erected in my back garden and was caught on my cctv(court case still going on for the damage £1000 worth) . but my cctv cannot be positioned at the front to cover any fence i put up and i dont want the same thing to happen.

their front garden is gravelled over and quite frankly looks a mess, and ive noticed they have moved some of their rubbish against their hedge so i look out onto it whenever i look out my window. and the intimadation i get from them every time i go out my front door theirs open seconds later and they stand in their doorway .

so i want some kind of screening ,i want to be able to go out in my front garden with out them standing in their doorway everytime i go outside .

leylanddi would be ideal lol but as ive now brought my council house last year this would not be a option as they would need planting right up to my house wall.

it is going to be difficult to put something there that is damage proof. lets put it like this i had paid out over £1.500 last year to put up a new boundary fence in my back garden, after the fence men had finished the first ten panels within 20 minutes of them leaving for the day this vile neighbour came out and lent and pushed as hard as he could on every panel...why? pure jealousy .

so you have a idea of my situation . a brick wall would be ideal but also too costly . i've got about just over 30ft too screen off.

any ideas?

  • I don't see what you can do that will be secure against your neighbour's efforts to ruin it. However, either a cheap screen (which might be too flimsy, so it's knocked over easily, but easily replaced), or a hedge of portugal laurel, which makes a lovely screen.  All that said, no chance of sitting down withyour neighbour, thrashing out your differences, perhaps with a third impartial party present, and coming to some sort of amicable stalemate?!

Hello annette. Firstly, I'm sorry you have such unpleasant neighbours, your situation sounds awful.

Is there currently any kind of boundary separating the front gardens?  You mention the neighbours hedge and rubbish.

A simple chain link fence and some fast growing climbers could be the cheapest and fastest solution for screening.

  • No chance of asking the council to evict the vicious little b.......s I suppose? Any support from other neighbours might help.

Failing that I don't know. Electric fence maybe? Wired up to the mains.

Sorry to be so flippant, I hope you can get the situation sorted as these people aren't fit to be housed.

  • Sorry you're having such a grim time - you probably know all this but I thought I might as well post it anyway
