Has anyone eaten Hosta leaves before?

    That river cottage chap cooked slugs - pretty much in the same way that snails are preparedimage. I remember that he wasn't impressed. Just because something won't poison you doesn't mean that it's worth eating.

    That being said,I might nibble a bit of hosta in the spring - for research purposes.

  • Just chew off the top of the emerging shoots. Makes for interesting patterns in the leaves as they unfold. Slugs are adept at that!

    I am still struggling to see why.

    What is wrong with Cabbage, Lettuce etc., etc.. 

    How can you lie there and think of England
