Any Ideas what this is?

Hi everyone,

im hoping someone on this forum can guide me in the right direction as to what this is. I've been told it's an industrial chimney pot cowl but I've looked online and can't find anything that remotely looks like it.

Any help would be appreciated, Ive not long bought the house that has two of these things in the garden and I do intend to sell them if I can.

thanks again.Richard.

  • It could be more like a cowl for ventilation, though I am not sure.image

  • Hi there,

thank you you for your reply, have you seen one like this before?

  • I have seen something similar on old poultry housing but I do not know what size they were or if they only had one vent. My memory is not so good.

looks odd that way up but yes, I've seen them like that, or more or less. I like chimneys so look at them a lot.

I think they are a vent as well.

it could be upside down? it's a chimney pot to stop birds nesting in your chimney - they find it difficult to fly upwards

alternatively a chicken feeder, load up the centre section with seed and cover, chickens eat out of the two lower sections?
