moss in flowerbeds
I've noticed moss in the front garden on the flowerbeds, the soil is a bit compacted it's clay and west facing, how should I treat this? I have some organic moss killer ( hasn't done much on mud patch(lawn) in the back though!) Do I need to give it a bit of a fork over? Can't do too much as there's loads of bulbs and perennials lurking under ti though I'm so disorganised I can't remember what's where!

give the surface a light rake to remove the moss,
then add a layer of compost (about 1 inch) this will give everything a feed in the bed and then top with a layer of mulch (2-3 inches) this should stop the moss returning.
Moss isn't a problem so I wouldn't bother removing it, but you don't want bare exposed compacted soil. As treehugger80 says, add some kind of organic mulch over the surface. If you do this now the bulbs and perennials will grow through it.
Great, thanks both will hopefully do that at weekend!
