am just going to get another company round, yea grass needs pegging down round edges, think curves possible just more expensive, i did think paly stuff needed securing, just wondering in a few years how easy they'll be to remove, as children grow the garden will evolve as we use it differently

  • Hi there, when we were looking for artificial grass for our son we found it was a good idea to walk on a sample without any shoes on.  There are quite a few to chose from and all feel different.

by the way, his large area of artificial grass looked fantastic and when it got a few leaves on they vacuumed it to perfection.

thanks valerie, that's what we've been doing! looks like we're going for a big national company, they're willing to incorpotare all the curves i want and reuse existing materials as i just don;t want that overly neat square look

Well done! Post a pic when it's done so we can see it in all its glory!

EEEEK!!! it;s being laid today and I'm so nervous! Hubby worried I'll hate it, I'm worried it'll be a nightmare to get up in a few years when I have the luxury of turning the whole back garden into beds!!I am such a control freak, it's going to be hard letting go today!

Relax! Your children will grow up in the blink of an eye and before long will not want to play in your garden. You can then do anything you want with it. Enjoy them while they are tiny and worry about the garden when you have time to wonder where the time went.

it's all done! must get hubby to post photos , you all know how useless I am! It looks great, all the borders are nicely  curved and I even have some more room for planting!Hurrah!! It does look a bit too bright to be real but to be honest, I just wanted away with the mud and a nice surface for children to paly on while I play in the flower borders, very happy with end result. What really made me laugh was when the chaps were finising up the goldfinches came chattering in the tree loudly as if to say "We've waited all day! go away now and let us eat!"

So long as you're happy with it. It doesn't matter about anyone else. It's your garden.

I look forward to seeing the photos, and the wider borders being filled.
