Went for a talk by our local snowdrop expert this week.
He has had squirrels and mice uproot his bulbs before (didn't say whether they had been eaten or not). But his no. 1 pest is slugs/snails who can graze off new growth as it emerges from the soil, and will later climb stems to devour the flowers (he had an amazing pic of a little snail doing just that). And wood pigeons peck off the flowers and leave them on the ground. Seems its a minefield out there
