I might give borage a miss then for now haha! I'll look into artichokes, thank you!
I planned on growing some different salad leaves anyway, good to know they'll be okay slotted into the borders. Already got some nasturtium seeds, including climbing ones! Had some last year and the leaves are good, very peppery - like a more intense, crunchy version of the flower.
With all these plants, I've made a decision to make a much larger extension to my growing area than before! Going to buy a few slab/stones to be able to get through it!
Good luck with it all, sounds as they it will be lovely. Just about everything I was going to suggest as I read through has already been mentioned. But I'll say it anyway! I would grow runner beans, mangetout or sugar snap peas, various lettuces, beetroot, parsley, curly kale, carrots, fennel, dill, thyme, everlasting spinach, chives, nasturtiums (leaves and flowers are good to eat in salads), French beans and broad beans.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
