    Ivy likes growing up trees (in the wild) or on walls. It has little aerial roots all up the stems, which attach themselves to the surface it's climbing up. So it's not suitable for arches, wires or trellis.

    Most jasmine isn't evergreen but Trachelospermum Jasminoides (Star Jasmin) is evergreen. But it prefers a sunny sheltered position.
