Monty Don
Watched Monty Don on TV last night and really enjoyed the programme. Lovely as it was to see him I am not sure what the role of Monty is in reconstructing the gardens but it was good to see him anyway.

I think he offers ideas then encourages the garden owners to focus on what they actually want and supports them to feel confident enough to do it. Enabling them and helping them to become gardeners themselves, rather than present them with a fait accompli that they have had little hand in and don't know what to do with.
I think it's a brilliant programme
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I think you are right Dove. He does seem to play a low key part in the programme but is very encouraging.Like you I enjoyed the programme immensely and it was cheering to see all those lovely flowers and greenery in dreary January.
I always watch anything with Monty in it. He can come and garden with me any day!!!!
