Courgettes

Every time I plant courgettes they seem to always get powdery grey  ..can anyone say why?

Lack of water weaking the plant and making it susceptible to powdery mildew.

Courgettes need lots of humous in the soil so that it is very moisture retentive, and plenty of watering - at least a bucket full per day when it is flowering/fruiting.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
