Splitting a Strelitzia

Hello
I have a fully grown Strelitzia Reginae in a pot and it has split into two clumps from the same root system.
Each has a flower forming. Can I separate them before the flowers bloom...?

! would leave it until after the flower has bloomed - you may damage roots which would cause the flower/s to fail.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
