When I was a child there were some clumps of Narcissus pseudonarcissus near the old orchard. One of the clumps was like a pale version of Rip van winkle. I'm not deadheading my N. pseudonarcissus or my Rip van winkles in the hope that they might recreate that crossing.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Loving the blossom, clems and drumsticks above. I haven't given up on my denticulata seedlings, (even though they look alot like dead nettle) but I bought some plugs from Parkers to be on the safe side and am pleased to get some new colours including similar to above and a white
Still on the first wave of daffs here
Think these are likely to be King Alfred, came with the garden
More spring photos looking forward to the tulips and alliums next. looking at everyone's photos I really need to plant some crocus in pots next year they are so impressive.
Your pots look great. Lovely to have that kind of display at the end of winter to make us all feel spring is here - or at least coming soon.
I have lots in the ground, but also in pots so that I can move them around.
Worth doing more Joyce - so simple but so cheery, and would work well with your other spring planting
Your potentilla's ahead of mine. Think they're a good bit earlier than usual though.
I noticed today some tulip stems were coming through. I'd overlooked them but the raindrops were nice so I took a pic. Ronaldo - a good purply pink I planted last year. Hopefully get another year from them too
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Lovely Chris - you were posting same time as me. I've not got any daffs through yet, but they're on their way. There might be acouple of the bog standard ones somewhere in the garden though.
Crocus are such great value. Definitely worth doing.
Your pond is looking really interesting. Have you had it in place a while? Looks very established

Beautiful spring pics everyone. My favourite has to be the gorgeous miniature daff third pic down from wonky ?
I used to have Rip VW round the corner. Wonder if they're still there
Took a few earlier- in between the bouts of rain
Drumstick prims opening up now, and the little pasqueflowers won't be long
the rosy buds of Clematis alpina Constance won't be too long either
I really need to split this clump of primula, but they're clearly very happy there
Those anemones are such a good, strong red GD

That would be grand Dove
Since raindrops have been falling on my head recently ( that could be a good idea for a song....) I caught a few 'raindroppy' pix
