    That's just one company, lots of them out there.

    Single ones make seed and give you more. Double ones just multiply by bulbs. Single are better for early bees

    Paul, if you are bothered by alligators I am guessing you live in a much warmer climate than most of us on here.  When growing something which is not native I have found it involves a lot of work to try to replicate the needed conditions.  You could try digging in loads of grit before planting "in the green" then cover with mesh to keep out the animals.  Most of the crocuses I planted in the grass this autumn were dug up by squirrels the same night.

    there were some funny looking holes around where I planted my tulips, we shall see what comes up

    Snowdrops are not usually eaten by most creatures, They are poisonous to most of them.
