Olive Trees

Hi,

I got bought a mini olive tree yesterday after eyeing them up for the last month or so. Its only 12inchs or so in height.

How quickly does these trees grow? I read somewhere that if grown in the right conditions that they can grow up to 3 feet a year. I find it quite hard to believe that my mini one will grow anywhere near as quick as that? I will probably keep in potted.

    Where do you live?  That will affect it's rate of growth.

    I'm on the coast in south Essex! Fairly warm summers and mild winters (generally)

    Mine lives outside in a pot by the south-facing wall of my house (in Leics) and started off about the same size.  After 5 years it is about 3ft tall now and puts on about 6" every year.

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
