Growing potatoes in bags

I planted 2 growbags with 4 seed potatoes and planted in September in the greenhouse. The growth was normal up to about 1 month ago. The green part was healthy then suddenly they drooped over and started to die. The stems went almost opaque then rotted. They were Maris Pipers. Any ideas about what went wrong would be helpful.
