Urgently Looking for a Doll for indoor game!
The game was originally copyrighted (& produced) by G.T. Hayter & Co Ltd of Bournemouth. I'd settle for an image or tracing of the missing Doll piece. Ideally the actual piece might be available to purchase - or copy & return - honestly!! ? Maybe a museum has a set or knows more about the game's history?? Make my (& a little girl's Christmas extra special if you can help. Thanks in advance.

Try looking on eBay or Amazon, you may be able to buy a second hand set and then you would have replacements for all the pieces.
Isn't there a museum of childhood in East London? Bethnal Green, I think - an offshoot of the V & A if my memory serves. They may be able to help.
I remember years ago I had a jigsaw puzzle which had a few pieces missing, so we cut out the missing pieces from the picture printed on the front of the box. Just a thought. Try looking in a few charity shops they may be a bit cheaper than eBay or Amazon.
I wouldn't cut up the box if you still have it.
Boxes tend to be more valuable than the contents as they often get badly worn or lost or have bits missing.
Something old complete with box can be considerably more valuable than without it.
Definitely don't cut up the box
- but you could get a colour laser copy made and someone with a jig saw could cut out a piece of wood the right size and shape

Thanks folks for all your helpful comments - best 'tip' so far is from Aunty Rach with the "Doll" image exactly portrayed in its rightful place: Brilliant! I'll probably be able to fabricate a 'facsimile' from 3-ply & paint a dolly-girl somewhat like the original (it won't be a Goya, but it will complete the set!!).
*Once complete, I'll post the ertzatz dollybird on this thread.....[other things may take priority in the immediate future as Christmastide is fast approaching!!].
I was thinking you could print the image out and mount it onto some thick card (templated from existing gap) and paint over with some PVA glue, which dries transparent.
Glad to 'help' as it looks a sweet little puzzle and I love the nostalgia of it for your Christmas get-together.
We've still got one of these, we used to try and put the shapes in the correct holes with our eyes closed. It was a much played with toy and lots of fun ?
Aunty Rach: AS they say (somewhere in the world) -"there's more than one way to skin a camel, hippo, rhinoceropig.... etc). I've reached the stage of digitally photographing your earlier response 'dolly panel' & tracing the outline as salient features; hair, dress ruffles, shoes etc directly off the viewing panel of the camera - by scaling the degree of enlargement to match the actual panel on my base board the rest ie the artwork should be a doddle..ha! ha!. [your suggested methodology is simpler & may well serve initially, inc home printing , cutting out, ppppppasteing with Pritt, followed by a couple coats PVA/ varnish. Gotcha methodology right, I trust?]. *Watch this space for further developments by & by...Cheers!!
