Why did you uproot them??
It's best if you don't uproot until foliage turns brown.
And next time when you plant them, then break off the stem after it flowers and do not let it form seeds

I was also doubting myself cuz of the 'huge'...... Its size ain't nothing compared to some of amaryllis bulbs I have seen.

Im also not sure how a gladiolus could suffocate anything. They grow straight up and down and hardly take up any space at all

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I was also doubting myself cuz of the 'huge'...... Its size ain't nothing compared to some of amaryllis bulbs I have seen.
