     Well ,it worked 

    But don't quote me that it will work for other things .I think it's trail and error!

    Going back to using vinegar to clean rusty tools....

    Great for chrome radiators and mirrors too.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    Is there a downside? If oiled, sharpened and looked after thereafter, can rust be managed this way long term?
