Hi, has anyone grown the above tree? And woukd you know where to buy seeds for it in the UK? Any info gratefully received.

It would appear that you cannot buy these seeds in the UK. Is there a specific reason you wish to grow this huge tree?

I was curious, this tree is used as a part of the taxal chemotherapy drug I am currently reciveing and I thought about growing one as a symbol for m treatment, I just googled it and found is 20 metres or more so thinking it's not a good idea after all. Taxel also uses yew trees and periwinkle so I will grow periwinkles instead. Bit thank you for getting back to me.
Amanda - good luck to you with your treatment. I only had to go through radiotherapy which - to me - was a much more gentle treatment than chemo. There is a beautiful yew, Taxus baccata Standishii which doesn't take up a lot of room and is very slow growing. I have one in my garden and I love it. You could grow periwinkles at its base.

Thank you Pansyface and ladybird4. Yes the Tree of life is far too big for my garden. But a yew and periwinkles are a much better idea.
I hope you can keep strong through your treatment Amanda. It's so amazing that nature has given us plants that can treat and heal. I think the periwinkles will bring you some cheer next year - a lovely thing to look forward too.
As well as the more common blue flowered periwinkle there are purple and white flowered ones which don't spread very much.
It's the ingredients in my chemotherapy IV drug. Not doing any Chinese Herbal Remedies. Tha k,you for you kind wishes. Hope you have a lovely Cheistmas.
Thank you for your kind words. And certsinly no harm i eating mushrooms. I seem to crave them after chemo anyway! Not tried the shiltake ones but will google them and maybe have a try. Xx
