Yes, the first picture is a Coprosma, I am quite sure that is right. There are several varieties according to google, so not exactly sure which one it is, but the colour is glorious especially in the sunshine. Thanks again.
Thanks Silver surfer. I used to grow one that looked like the photo, but it was about 25 years ago, so I've forgotten the cultivar name. Still not sure which of the red ones it might be. (That was in Canberra).
Gosh, thank you so much everyone who has given me names for those two rather lovely plants, which look great at this time of year. The Leucadendron (I have googled this and agree), is a real little stunner and I can't wait to see if it takes to it's new home in our front garden. It was planted just a few months ago, and seems to be thriving, which is good considering the RHS site recommends a greenhouse or a sheltered mild area. Hopefully we won't get a harsh winter here and the shrub will eventually flower. Thanks again.
