Sacrococca ph levels

What is the ideal p h level for sacrococca. Katrina 12

    it's alkaline here and it does very well

    Acid here and it does fine. I think it prefers a bit of shade.

    Acid here and I can't grow it, except in a pot on the patio. I have a suspicion it may be that it needs shelter from the cold wind rather than the soil pH being the problem.

    Hi, In the spring some af my aquilegia flower buds were shrivelled and deformed, after some research I discovered a tiny grub in the bud about 3 mm long and orange, which turned out to be aquilegia gall midge. I am now finding some of my dahlia buds are looking the same, and sure enough when I looked inside there was a small grub about5/6mm,  cann’t Find a name for this grub ,can anyone help.
