Brrrrrrrrrrr! Cold night ahead

The forecast is for temperatures on Monday night to plummet and there will be a very hard frost right over the UK.

If you've not protected your tender plants, do it tomorrow!

Pauline, that's not right, nobody should have to do that

  • Loana - every oxalis I've ever met has been tough as old boots and try as I can I've not been able to destroy it ... but you may have one that's a bit special?

Nut - most of my plants are hardy - it's the pots I have to protect image  Not sure about the canna Hosta gave me but it's in the bubblewrapped little greenhouse right up against the house wall and my fingers are crossed.  I think I'll drape some fleece over the fig image

I feel your pain. The temp. will drop here on the prairies this week. Mid week it will drop to at least -16C here in Calgary. I was down to the creek and river yesterday and I found the pond frozen over and a face staring up at me in the ice!!

  • Ooooo-eeer! We've just got back from our train station run and it's freezing here in E.Sussex, though not  as cold as it will be by tomorrow morning!   Just seen that we are forecast -4 over night tonight - though no where near as cold as you Johnny!!

Thank goodness I spent yesterday afternoon bubble wrapping the greenhouse and moving all my pots in there! It's going to be a cold one!!
