pruning a Fuchsia

I have a fully leafed and flowering fuchsia that is showing some signs of growth. I have been told it needs to be cut right back, but because it is still in full bloom can someone tell me when I should do this. many thanks

I leave mine until the spring Mobeyanne. Maybe those in warmer areas treat their fuchsias differently.
I leave mine til spring, when the risk of frost has passed. Then I chop them back, if you do it too early you chance having any new growth killed off in a cold snap.
I do mine in the spring too, cut them right down.
I do it March here, SE.
much appreciated feedback. General consensus is cut back in spring,so will leave 'til then many thanks ?
Oh goodness Ive just cut mine back today ?. any advice on how I can keep it alive.
I use to cut mine back at the end of the year not realising it should be spring and they always grew back but now I leave them because the bees are still visiting. Midlands
How spooky! I just Googled that very thing and was reading these - http://www.jwjonline.net/fuchsia_overwinter.php https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2002/aug/25/gardens before I headed over here to search the same - and what did I see at the top of 'Latest Posts'?
The author of the first does his in Winter, Monty says Spring, but admits to not growing them.
Ah, but the chap who does his in winter has the more tender types and over-winters them in his greenhouse - pruning in winter will save space and help to prevent infestations of pests such as whitefly.
The ones that are pruned in the spring are the hardy outdoor types

Mine were in the garden i never had a greenhouse to move them to but they survived just as everything else has to or be replaced, that must have been why they showed me how good they were.
