Can tomatoe diseases be transmitted to roses? (may be a stupid question)
Hello, everything is in the title. I got bare root roses and can't plant them right away so I put them in a container with this year's tomato growing medium. I was wondering if there is any risk that I'm taking there, and if a disease can be transmitter and infect the roots.
Thank you very much in advance.

In short Sandra no. I'd get them planted though as soon as possible.
Thanks a lot Dave.
No, tomato problems are their own. However, as Dave says, time is right to plant, soil's (relatively) warm and roses will get established well in time for the new growth to be strong next year.

You are right. It's just that it's raining so hard right now but I can't wait to plant them.
And, there are no stupid questions, not here. You need to know, so ask!

Got it
Just keep their roots damp - not sodden - just damp - and keep them in the cool. You don't want them to think spring has arrived so that they start growing.

Thank you everyone, I actually just finished planting them, under the pouring rain.
