'Dramatic' music in TV programmes

It may just be me getting older, but I'm getting really fed up with loud 'thumping' music in documentaries and other informational TV programs. Almost everything on the Discovery or National Geographic channels is becoming a pain in the ears! Anyone else noticed this?

I find that as my hearing has deteriorated, it is difficult to filter out the music or the canned laughter. I wish that the producers of film and tv could have more confidence in the content of their programmes and let the words and pictures speak for themselves.

I KNOW IF SOMETHING IS FUNNY OR SAD OR EXCITING. MUSIC IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE MY MIND.
IF THE CHIPS ARE SOGGY, THE BEST KETCHUP IN THE WORLD WILL NOT PERSUADE ME THEY TASTE GOOD.
THAT WOULDN'T WORK EITHER,I'M AFRAID.
"THEY" IGNORE THIS COMPLAINT WHICH HAS GONE ON FOR SOME YEARS.
Having watched Planet Earth II (which was amazing) I was annoyed by the very loud accompanying music.
I later read that they had asked Hans Zimmer to write the music - must have cost a fortune, but WHY?
If I want to listen to music I put the radio on.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it ruined an excellent program, but it was overly loud and unnecessary

Yes we have noticed the music is loud but the voices very quiet as if they are mumbling there words sometimes, we are forever rewinding to make out what they are saying, and we are in our thirties, so no it's not your hearing
Is there anyone we can complain to?
I have complained several times about the noise pollution on BBC, including gardening programmes - who wants to hear trumpets and drumming when they are trying to relax by enjoying a garden?
Planet Earth II started quietly, but then I had to turn down the volume as the music started, but then it stopped and Attenborough's voice returned at the much lower sound level - they didn't use to do that.
And the Sky at Night used to have no background music because Patrick Moore didn't allow it, buty now it is on all the time, serving no purpose, and they even have a ridiculous whooshing sound over the title music, as if Sibelius's music isn't good enough.
Slow TV, with nothing added, is very popular, but the BBC don't seem to get the message.
