It's not for me, but I can understand why people use it. I went to a property recently and under an enormous cypress tree was a perfect lawn, right up to the trunk.For a moment I was impressed, but soon realised it was plastic.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Joking aside, my front grass is a similar aspect to Penny's, but less shaded by planting. It's largely moss at this time of year. It gets minimal attention in spring apart from a weed and feed and maybe a little seed scattered later, and generally looks quite good in summer. I don't have dogs or children running around on it though....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
