unknown rose pests

I have recently found tiny black  bugs on the back of the leaves on my roses.  Would like to know what they are and how to get rid of them.  I'll try posting a pic.  I'm new to this site.

Can soome one tell me where to find instructions on posting a pic?

Thanks all.

Hi Blue. Welcome to the forum. If you look above the right hand side of your text box, you will see a little camera icon. Click on that and then follow the directions. Basically it takes you to where your pictures are stored in your device and you can select the appropriate one. If it doesn't load it may be because your picture is too large so you may have to shrink it down.

If not blackfly maybe scale insects.

  • Thanks to you all for your warm welcome!  I've tried to attach a pic., but no luck so far.  The spots are getting bigger, but they don't move.  I'll try again now.  Sorry for the slow response.  Forgot password and had a hard time getting back on.

  • Also, they are making holes on the front of the leaf.
i'm pickig them off in the meantime.  Still am unable to post a photo.

Try reducing the size of the photos ...

  • Blue, are these roses outside or in a polytunnel or similar?

There's a few scale insects, the brown ones on the leaves but I can't enlarge the image enough to ID an insect.

  • neither can I Dave. I've tried zooming and enlarging but all I can get is too blurred to attempt an ID.
