Name that tree

Can anyone help me identify the pictured tree? I've been told it may be an avacado tree, but not sure.

This is growing in my back garden - I live in Wellington, New Zealand. It's approx 2 meters tall.

    aym280, have you had avocado trees before? Are you confirming you think it may be an Avocado tree?

    I'll have to look up some tips for caring for it - it seems fairly healthy already, though.
