They like it quite shady - has anything around it changed recently?  Any trees cut down that might be letting in more light?

Mine certainly does that philippa - and not just in cold weather! I remove them right back at the main stem. They're not normally bothered by pests and diseases in my experience.

Hopefully the OP will come back with more info. image

They also need a fair bit of moisture. Dry soil can be a factor. The foliage can prevent moisture getting through, so it's easy to think wateringis unnecessary if there's been quite a bit of rain. People think the plant is getting well watered when in reality, the ground could be drying out considerably.

sounds like the plant is not receiving the correct nutrition. curly leaves often indicated that there is an imbalance in the soil or a lack of nutrition for the plant. I would recommend starting a feeding scheme to rebalance and add to the content of the soil. Try to go with the organic option always :).

It's a four year old thread so it's either recovered,  or it's dead  ;)

  • I can’t help thinking that if it’s Elvis’s plant it’s probably in the building ... 😉
